UWE Bristol has revealed the programme for its next Digital Construction Climate Nexus event on 20 June.
Ahmed Hagras, co-programme leader for the MSc BIM and senior lecturer in BIM at UWE Bristol, told BIMplus: “As the built environment faces increasing climate challenges, we must leverage the full potential of digital construction. This event creates space for collaboration, innovation, and leadership, bringing together those ready to act. It’s about more than tools; it’s about transforming mindsets, practices and outcomes for a sustainable future.
“We are working closely with key industry bodies, such as nima and buildingSMART, to ensure that the event aligns with openBIM principles, interoperability standards, and the latest advancements in digital transformation. Their involvement will help drive discussions on practical implementations, policy directions and emerging best practices for a more sustainable built environment.”
In the afternoon breakout sessions, Mike Ford, senior associate at Ridge and Partners, will deliver a case study focused on unlocking net zero through streamlined retrofit management. His colleague Mike Edwards, a partner at Ridge, will reveal how the practice is using a proprietary technology stack to simulate and automate detailed roof inspections, 3D models and infrared surveys of social housing stock at scale.
