At bauma 2025, the Wirtgen Group and John Deere showcased a wide range of new technologies and construction equipment, drawing global interest with nearly 100 machines on display—including 45 world premieres. The joint booth served as a central hub for updates on the future of road construction, materials processing and digital jobsite management.
Focus on Real-World Solutions and Smart Technology
Live demonstrations were a major attraction at the event. Experts presented workflows, machinery coordination and automation tools across massive LED screens. These sessions offered a close look at how contractors might use integrated systems to improve efficiency in road building, site prep and material handling.
The Technology Zone served as the centerpiece for Wirtgen Group’s digital solutions. Key tools on display included the John Deere Operations Center™ Construction platform, which consolidates project data for site managers, and several Wirtgen Performance Tracker (WPT) tools for various machine functions, including paving, compacting, milling, recycling and crushing. These systems are designed to provide operators and project teams with real-time performance data and documentation support without adding administrative burden.
Production Systems Take Center Stage
Surrounding the Technology Zone were Production Systems, a major theme for the Wirtgen Group this year. These systems represent coordinated combinations of machines, processes, and digital tools intended to streamline tasks from start to finish.
Demonstrations included:
- Warm mix asphalt production, which lowers processing temperatures to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
- Road rehabilitation systems using real-time data and partial automation to improve accuracy and reduce costs.
- Material processing trains, featuring linked machines for crushing and screening.
- Cold recycling and soil stabilization processes, focused on sustainability and resource efficiency in earthworks.
Each system aimed to highlight practical applications of digital coordination, automation and improved material handling techniques.
New Equipment Debuts Draw Operator Interest
A significant part of the booth was dedicated to showcasing equipment from Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm, Kleemann, Benninghoven/Ciber and John Deere. The opportunity to see so many machines — including dozens making their public debut — attracted operators, contractors and project managers alike.
For many, the highlight was seeing equipment that could soon be part of their own fleets. From compactors and pavers to crushers and asphalt plants, the range of equipment reflected the growing integration of data, automation and sustainability considerations into construction workflows.
