R.D. Olson Construction, a leading general contracting firm renowned for its expertise in multifamily projects, has begun the construction of the apartments on Vintage Farms, an $80M residential village in Murrieta, CA. The village will contain 330 market rate and luxury apartments spread across 11 buildings and 15 standalone garages on a 15-acre site. The development of Vintage Farms will take place over 18 months and will be one of R.D. Olson’s first projects in Murietta.
“It’s a pleasure to collaborate again for the fourth time with MBK Rental Living.” said Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction. “Through this project, we will be bringing apartments of all sizes alongside plentiful amenities that will benefit everyone in the community.”
The construction of Vintage Farms will be executed in five phases. The first phase will consist of the development of all amenities, which include the clubhouse, pool, jacuzzi, BBQ areas, and walkways, alongside the construction of the first two apartment buildings and two garages. Subsequently, the following four phases will contain the construction of two apartment buildings and 2-4 garages in each phase. The project will consist of five phases with each phase turning over various numbers of units all within the 18-month period to ensure on-time delivery while causing minimal noise disruption to the community.
To account for evolving residential needs, the 11 apartment buildings will be comprised of two different types of structures. The first type will be 40,320 square feet and will house 30 apartments. There will be nine buildings that are composed of this structure. The remaining two buildings will be 43,200 square feet each and will also house 30 apartments each. Across all 11 structures, R.D. Olson Construction is creating 449,280 square-feet of residential space to accommodate anyone from single dwellers to families of varying sizes.
The different sized apartments easily suit the buildings’ different floor plans including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. Each standalone garage will be right next to the buildings, so tenants can quickly access their cars without having to navigate or commute to a central parking structure. The 15 stand-alone garages range from hosting 7 to 16 cars and will have a total of 332 parking spaces.
R.D. Olson Construction pursued careful site planning prior to the construction of the apartments. They worked months in advance to perform hillside grading, road paving, building pad certification, and implement wet and dry utilities alongside other measures to ensure all site infrastructure was put in place. The construction firm’s robust planning process helped bring 250 plus construction jobs to the region.
Located at 28749 Clinton Keith Rd., Vintage Farms is situated in a prime location right next to Southern California’s wine country and is only an hour from San Diego. Being within Murrieta, the property is in the hub of restaurants, shopping centers and is across the street from Vista Murrieta High School.
Project partners that are instrumental to the success of Vintage Farms include Geotek USA (geotechnical consultant), Forma Engineering (civil engineer), SiteScapes (landscapes architect), SummA Architecture (architect), Gouvis Engineering (MEPS/Title 24), Tek Systems (low voltage), DesignArt (interior design) and BJ Palmer (Dry Utility).
The full project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
