Noregon has released an update to its flagship JPRO diagnostic software, adding a new feature designed to help users comply with California’s Clean Truck Check regulation. The update also includes significant coverage expansions for both on-highway and off-highway vehicles.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently implemented the Clean Truck Check, requiring most heavy-duty vehicles operating in the state to undergo regular emissions inspections. In response, JPRO now includes a pre-scan feature that detects issues which could lead to inspection failures.
These insights are delivered through JPRO’s Road Worthiness tool, which evaluates whether a vehicle is ready for operation. According to Jason Hedman, Noregon product manager, “One critical step to avoid a breakdown is to perform a pre-trip diagnostic scan then address any problems before they have a chance to fester. Road Worthiness simplifies this process by helping technicians identify issues that need attention before they potentially result in safety malfunctions, fines, or failed inspections.”
Alongside the regulatory update, JPRO now supports over 100 additional off-highway equipment manufacturers and 1,000 new machine models. This expanded support includes OEMs such as Deutz, John Deere, Kubota, and Volvo Construction Equipment.
“We strive for technicians to use JPRO on every vehicle or piece of equipment they encounter,” Hedman said. “This release puts more tools in their hands—especially for shops servicing a mix of trucks and equipment.”
The update also brings new bi-directional tests and expanded support for on-highway vehicles from manufacturers including Ford, GM, Detroit, and Paccar.
