William Hackett Achieves H-Mark Certification for Chain Sling Components

William Hackett has received H-mark certification from DGUV Test for a selection of components in its Hack8 and Hack10 chain sling ranges. The certification applies to grade 8 and grade 10 components, including master links, sub-assemblies, connectors, shackles, and hooks.

The H83 mark is awarded by DGUV Test, a recognized third-party testing and certification body in Germany. To earn this accreditation, components undergo type testing to ensure they meet European safety and performance standards. Testing includes material verification, dimensional checks, tensile and fatigue testing, and other component-specific evaluations. The certification confirms compliance with EN818 and EN1677 standards.

Rod Bell, Technical Director at William Hackett, noted that H-Mark accreditation is an established indicator of product quality and safety. “It confirms that our components meet stringent requirements, supporting confidence in their use across lifting applications,” he said.

In addition to the certification, William Hackett has recently introduced RFID tags for its Hack8 and Hack10 chain sling assemblies. These embedded chips enable more efficient access to digital product records and traceability, supporting inspection and documentation processes in the field.

Although new products will be embossed with the H83 symbol, existing Hack8 and Hack10 components are already manufactured to the same certified standard.
