Graham Foundation Reveals 2025 Grants for Organizations

The Graham Foundation is honored to announce the award of $573,300 for 39 new grants to organizations. Selected from more than 200 submissions, the funded projects—including exhibitions, installations, publications, podcasts, student led journals, international architecture events, and other public programs—are led by organizations ranging from major cultural institutions and independent nonprofit spaces to academic institutions, publishers, and community-based initiatives, among others.
Collectively, these projects advance new interdisciplinary ideas on architecture and design and engage publics around the world.

The new grants highlight work by established and emerging architects, artists, curators, designers, historians, scholars, writers, and others working with organizations worldwide
in cities such as Vienna, Austria; Montreal and Toronto, Canada; Milan, Italy; Mexico City, Mexico; Lisbon and Porto, Portugal; Zurich, Switzerland; Rotterdam, the Netherlands,
London, United Kingdom; Atlanta, GA; Cambridge, MA; Fayetteville, AR; Lexington, KY, Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Tuskegee, AL; Washington, DC; and Chicago, IL, where
the Graham Foundation is based.

Highlights of the funded exhibitions and programs presented in fall 2025 include:

• In Cambridge, MA, the Black in Design Conference 2025, organized by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design takes place November 7–8.
• In Chicago, the sixth edition of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change, opens September 19; Mobile Makers
Chicago hosts The Design Summit for Friends of Friends September 26–28.
Deem Journal presents Design for Dignity 03: A Convening of Possibilities October 24–25; and Bruce Goff: Material Worlds opens at the Art Institute of Chicago, December 21.
• In Lisbon, the seventh edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, How Heavy is a City? Opens October 2–4.
• In London, The Word for World: The Maps of Ursula K. Le Guin opens at the Architectural Association School of Architecture October 10, and A Capsule in Time, the 2025 Serpentine Pavilion by Marina Tabassum, remains on view through October 26.

In New York, A83 presents OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen: Four Five Six September 25, and Performa stages Aria Dean: The Color Scheme November 19–22.
• In Rotterdam, the Nieuwe  Instituut presents FUNGI: Anarchist Designers, opening November 20.
• In Venice, PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity, the US Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, organized by University of Arkansas—Fay Jones School of Architecture is on view through November 24.

The 2025 grantees join an international network of individuals and organizations that the Graham Foundation has supported over the past 69 years. In that time, the Foundation
has awarded more than 45 million dollars in direct support to over 5,200 projects.
