Carnegie Acoustic Solutions, a division of Carnegie that manufactures iconic, sustainable acoustic design elements, proudly announces the first-of-its-kind Xorel ArtformⓇ Cumulus 3D Cloud, a part of the Mezzo Collection, a new suite of acoustic solutions designed to bring harmony to interior environments. Inspired by musical dynamics, the Mezzo Collection strikes a balance between sound control and aesthetic refinement, enabling designers to create spaces that are both functional and beautifully composed.
The Cumulus 3D Cloud is a next-generation acoustic ceiling solution that unites sculptural elegance with sustainable performance. Measuring 55″ wide, 20″ high, and 4.33″ deep, each cloud is topped with Kirei PET—made from at least 60% recycled plastic—for a polished, finished look from every angle. The soft, curved form evokes the calm of natural cloud formations while delivering a high-performing Array-NRC of 0.65 with its new rPET-Core acoustic substrate made from a minimum of 60% recycled plastic. Wrapped in either Carnegie’s proprietary XorelⓇ fabric or Biobased Xorel fabric, which is Cradle to Cradle™ Certified and derived from rapidly renewable sugarcane, the Cumulus 3D Cloud is as environmentally responsible as it is visually striking. Designers can customize each installation with over 350 Xorel colors, textures, and patterns, 35 Kirei PET colors, or even bespoke designs through Kirei Ink’s in-house printing capabilities. Finished with a refined mounting system for a clean, seamless appearance, the Cumulus 3D Cloud is a true evolution in acoustic design.
“To celebrate this complete reimagining of the Xorel Artform Cloud portfolio, we designed the Cumulus 3D Cloud—the most visually iconic Xorel Artform cloud we have ever launched. It features multiple 3D elements and an outer shape unlike anything you’ve seen before,” says Michael DiTullo, Head of Product Innovation for Carnegie Acoustic Solutions. “With the launch of the Mezzo Collection, the full suite of Xorel Artform Clouds has been refined, offering improved shape definition, cleaner aesthetics from above and below, and upgraded minimalist hardware. With options to mix and match sizes and finishes, the updated Xorel Artform Clouds offer scalable acoustic solutions that balance understated elegance with enhanced performance.”
