bauma Bound: What Major Construction OEMs Are Showing in Europe

bauma, recognized as the largest trade fair in the world, takes place every three years and serves as the globe’s leading sector event for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction machinery.

Held at the Messe München in Munich, Germany, April 7-13, 2025, the event brings together more than 3,500 exhibitors from 57 countries to present exhibits, innovations and trends in the halls and outdoor areas throughout the campus, spanning across an exhibition area of 614,000 square meters. The 2025 installment is focused on digitalization and sustainability, which have been identified as driving forces in the construction industry of the future. These trends are also reflected in the five key topics the event and its partners have defined for bauma 2025: climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction, and mining challenges.

The 2025 installment of the event opens today, and several of the construction industry’s top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are scheduled to showcase their latest innovations, from digital developments and equipment innovation to tomorrow’s construction methods, including but not limited to the following highlights:

Caterpillar Celebrates 100 Years at bauma 2025

Covering over 9,000 m2, Caterpillar’s exhibit will feature 48 machines, including 17 new introductions or upgrades.

Dynapac and Leica Launch Automated Steering and Screed Edge Control for Asphalt Pavers

Debuting at bauma 2025, the Dynapac SD25 and XD25 Highway Paver series will feature the new integrated interface for auto-steering and screed edge control from Leica, aimed at enhancing the precision and efficiency of asphalt paving operations.

Hitachi Europe Introduces LANDCROS One Concept at bauma 2025

The concept excavator features a modular cab with intuitive ergonomics, gamified operations and AI-assisted interfaces. It also allows three powertrain options so operators can switch between autonomous, remote and traditional operating modes.
