Dome Construction has tapped Nicole Matoza as its chief financial officer, according to an April 28 news release from the South San Francisco-based contractor.
Matoza will oversee Dome’s financial strategy and operational efficiency, the firm said in its release, and she brings over a decade of experience in both public and private construction accounting.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Matoza worked for six years as an audit supervisor for Sacramento, California-based accounting firm BFBA before serving as controller for Triamid Construction, also headquartered in Sacramento. She joined Dome in 2019 in the controller position before advancing to director of finance in 2021.
“Nicole’s expertise in construction finance and strategic leadership make her an invaluable asset to Dome Construction,” said Rob Lynch, Dome CEO. “Her ability to drive financial excellence while supporting key business initiatives will be instrumental in strengthening our position in the industry.”
Founded in 1969 in the Bay Area, Dome Construction was an early player in the area’s biotech and advanced manufacturing industries, according to its website.
In 1985, it completed Genentech’s South San Francisco campus, then the largest biotech manufacturing plant in the world, before finishing Abgenix’s $80 million manufacturing plant in Fremont, California, in the early 2000s. The firm went on to help build the California Department of Justice’s DNA Forensic Laboratory in Richmond as well as the Laser Optics Lab at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Dome reported $575 million in revenue in 2023, according to ENR.
Matoza is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association and is involved in Dome’s initiatives to support women in construction. She holds a B.S. in business administration and accounting from California State University, Chico, according to her LinkedIn profile.
